Sara studied and later taught Interior Design and Colour theory at the International School of Colour and Design in Sydney and is launching a French Colour range with Bauwerk Paint in late 2020. Her first book, published by Thames & Hudson and featuring the restoration of the chateau and her life in the Béarn will be on sale in April 2021.

Chateau Montfort was built in the early 19th century by a French general who constructed many of the surrounding farm houses to support his beef farming and wine production. The second family to own the chateau were related to King Leopold III of Belgium, however by the late 1980’s, the chateau was unoccupied; a state in which it stayed until the owners purchased the property in 2015.
